Search inside every message
Not just titles — the full text of every conversation, plus your saved artifacts and bookmarked messages. Ranked, highlighted, and one click from the exact message.
Free v1.0.0 · in review at the Chrome Web Store · on the Chrome Web Store
Claude Toolbox adds full-text search, unlimited folders, bookmarks and an artifact vault to claude.ai — then lets you take any of it out as Markdown, PDF, JSON or a ZIP. It runs entirely in your browser.
Free forever. No account, no server, no analytics. Works with Chrome, Edge, Brave and Arc.
The problem
A few hundred conversations in, that brilliant answer from six weeks ago may as well not exist. Claude’s sidebar searches titles. Your work is in the messages.
Not just titles — the full text of every conversation, plus your saved artifacts and bookmarked messages. Ranked, highlighted, and one click from the exact message.
Drag conversations into colour-coded folders and subfolders. Move, archive, rename, tag or delete in bulk. Pin the ones you keep coming back to.
Every artifact saved apart from its conversation, with folders, tags, a live preview, full version history, side-by-side comparison and one-click restore.
What you get
Press Alt + C anywhere on claude.ai.
Ranked results with highlighted snippets, across four kinds of content at once.
-exclusions and prefix matchingtag: folder: project: from:human after:2025-01-01Your words, out of the browser and into your own files.
Save the answer, not the whole conversation around it.
A live context meter, and a clean way out when you hit the ceiling.
How it works
Add it from the Chrome Web Store. No sign-up, no licence key, nothing to configure before it works.
Open the panel and click Index my conversations. It reads your history straight from claude.ai using the session you are already signed in with, and stores it on your machine.
Press Alt + F and search. Then file, tag, bookmark and export whatever you want to keep.
Privacy
Claude Toolbox has no backend, no account system and no analytics. Your index lives in your own browser profile, and the extension is not capable of reading any website other than claude.ai.
Questions
Yes — free to install and free to use, with no paid tier, no trial window and no feature held back. There is no payment system in the extension at all.
No. There is no server involved. The extension reads your conversations from claude.ai and stores the index in your own browser, using Chrome’s built-in storage. Nothing is transmitted to the developer or to any third party.
No. Claude Toolbox is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic. “Claude” is Anthropic’s trademark and is used here only to describe what the extension works with.
Only when you explicitly ask. Renaming, archiving and deleting are actions you trigger, and deleting always asks for confirmation first because it removes the conversation from your Claude account permanently. Everything else — folders, tags, bookmarks — lives only in the extension and never touches your Claude data.
Chrome 116 or newer, and the Chromium browsers that use the same extension platform: Microsoft Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera and Vivaldi. Firefox and Safari use a different platform and are not supported today.
No. The first index reads your history once; after that the extension keeps the list fresh in the background and indexes each conversation as you open it. You can run a full re-index at any time from Settings.
Install it, index once, and every conversation you have ever had with Claude becomes searchable.
