Terms of Use

Plain terms for a free tool. Please read them before you install.

Last updated: 9 September 2026

1. What this is

Claude Toolbox (“the extension”) is a free browser extension that adds search, organisation and export features to the claude.ai web interface. These terms cover your use of the extension and of this website.

2. It is free

The extension is provided free of charge. There is no paid tier, no subscription and no in-app purchase. You do not need an account with us, because there is no account system.

3. No affiliation with Anthropic

Claude Toolbox is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic PBC. “Claude” and “Anthropic” are trademarks of Anthropic PBC and are used here only to describe what the extension works with.

Your use of Claude itself is governed by Anthropic’s own terms. You are responsible for making sure the way you use this extension is consistent with them. The extension does not bypass any restriction, quota or paywall in Claude, and does not use undocumented capabilities beyond reading and managing your own conversations through the same interface your browser already uses.

4. Your data is yours

The extension stores its index on your device. We never receive it. You are responsible for the conversations you index, export and share, and for keeping your exported files somewhere appropriate.

5. Destructive actions

The extension can rename, archive and delete conversations in your Claude account when you explicitly ask it to. Deleting a conversation is permanent and cannot be undone. The extension asks for confirmation first, but the responsibility for confirming is yours. Export a backup before any bulk operation you are unsure about.

6. No warranty

The extension is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

claude.ai is a third-party service that can change at any time without notice. If it changes in a way that breaks indexing or exporting, the extension will degrade or stop working until it is updated. No particular level of availability or compatibility is promised.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the authors and copyright holders are not liable for any claim, damages or other liability — including lost data or lost conversations — arising from the use of, or inability to use, the extension.

8. Licence

The extension is released under the MIT Licence. You may use, copy, modify and redistribute it under those terms, which are included with the source.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the extension to:

  • access an account you are not authorised to use;
  • place unreasonable load on Anthropic’s services;
  • redistribute other people’s conversations without their permission; or
  • do anything unlawful.

10. Changes

These terms may change as the extension changes. The date at the top shows when they were last revised. Continuing to use the extension after a change means you accept the revised terms.

11. Contact
